Name Those Relatives!

Okay, maybe I have just a little too much time on my hands
(empty nesting, etc.) and I should be 'arting'
but as you know I love old family photos.
So dear family check out this one!
These folks are from Roger's side of the family ... WHO ARE THEY?
Next week it could be YOU!

Kids Say the Darndest Things and ...

Tulips from my SIL on Easter ~ Thank YOU Linda!
I've been in customer service forever (36 years)! Recently I left my corporate customer service job to serve a different type of clientele. I am now a nanny for twin 2 year-olds. I arrive at their home early in the a.m. and we spend the day together. You need to know that I have set my hair on heat rollers almost everyday for the last 35 years (can you imagine!?). When the twins are napping I usually have time to plug in the travel rollers and do my thing! Now mind you these sweet little children are only 2 and the other day when E. woke up from his nap and I walked into his room to retrieve him from his crib, he looked at me and said, "nice hair Jerlin". I thanked him and told him I had used my curlers!
Now earlier this week things were a bit hectic and I didn't have time to use my curlers. We were getting our coats on to go outside and play and he looked up at me intently (kinda like the little face below) and stared at my hair and said, "Jerlin YOU NEED CURLERS!"
I love my new client base ...
THEY SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS
AND ALWAYS MAKE ME LAUGH!
ME and MY curlers (almost 12,000 times ... that's a bit bizarre)

OHMYGOSH! I love chocolate and chocolate covered nuts are the best! I am so sad when I get to a box of chocolates and someone has eaten all the chocolate covered nuts. Well Kevin gave me a WHOLE 10 OZ. BOX of Russell Stover chocolate covered cashew, peanut, pecan, and almond nut cups for EASTER. I am a very happy Mom!

Thank YOU KEVIN!

The little 'create' charm is from Robin to remind me to do just that ...
Thank YOU Robin!

have a great rest-of-this week!

momentary setback ... oops

Life can be so complicated, the hustle and bustle of everyday traumas can make us lose focus about what is truly important or what is only a momentary setback or crisis. They say everything happens for a reason and you should never brush aside anyone or anything as insignificant - for there is a lesson that can be learned!

Well I learned my lesson ... spread myself a bit too thin yesterday and hustled and bustled all day! And when it was time to leave home for the Family Annual St. Patrick's Day Party (after I burned the bacon for the traditional Irish Colcannon recipe), I had no time to grab the camera case with a new disc for the camera. Thought I could squeeze on just a few more treasured memories. Well squeeze I did and the poor Sony was chugging along pretty slow at our 2nd Party, Patti's 45th Birthday Party but we got some great pictures of Patti after she won her 'Birthday' pool game. We agreed they would be perfect pictures for her husband, Paul ... until I powered up the camera when I got home and got an error message, "REPAIRING DATA", and those perfect pictures were gone! They weren't repaired, they were chewed up, and GONE! I so wanted those pictures back and tried everything ... but they are gone!
Lesson's I learned ...
  1. slow down you move too fast
  2. get organized and be prepared
  3. learn from your mistakes
  4. and as my Mom would always say, "don't sweat the small stuff"
Here are a few pics from Patti's party that managed to stay, we'll just have to get together again and take more pics!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATTI!

Bunny Slippers

They're here ...
Terry, this is for you
and all the Wal-Mart technicians
that believed you!
Finally, I AM wearing Bunny slippers! Actually, I love a successful 'Mompreneur' story and this is definitely one of them. I had to have a pair and share the story. E & A will love them. 'Runaway Rabbit' Bunny Slippers http://runawayrabbit.com/ Check them out! Check out the 'sightings' category to see who else is wearing them. Visit http://www.wbir.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=53790
for the story about Runaway Rabbit Creations. Ten percent of all profits are donated to an adoption foundation that helps kids find forever homes.
Shell and Laura did you want to order Bunny Slippers for the Vineyard?
Barbara U. did you want to get a pair for the Keys?
They are so comfortable!

I love them ....

'Pajama Days' and the Beach
(a perfect weekend)!
'Pajama Days' ~ I've heard rumor of them but never really got to experience one (without being sick) until this past weekend. Turned out that I did not have to work outside the home on Saturday and it rained all day so it was a perfect time to try the 'Pajama Day' thing! Did bunches of house cleaning in the a.m. in my pajamas. Showered and changed into more comfy P.J.'s in the afternoon. Sewed, worked on piles, 'arted' and watched Sean Penn's "Into the Wild" film based on the biography of 23 year old Christopher McCandless by Jon Krakauer. I had read the book when we were in Alaska ~ a true intense story, tough for a Mom of 20 and 25 year old boys to watch, but very well done! http://www.intothewild.com/
Sunday was off to the beach and dinner in Old Saybrook at Linda's home. Brought Jasmine along to play with her cousin Callie ...

a tad bit of flooding after Saturday's rain ...

sandbars at almost low tide ...

these guys were kitesurfing, very brrry ...

Jasmine and her Dad in the wind!

THE PERFECT SETTING ...

check out this table at Linda's home

and the food was great too! Thank YOU for the invite LINDA!

Here is Linda and Callie at the beach ...

(this is Gloucester, MA)

just 31 more days until the water is turned on at the cottage ...

have a great week!

(next weekend is booked solid ...

no hope for 'Pajama Days' in the near future)

Looking forward to the FAMILY St. Patrick's Day party a week from tomorrow!

Now I just have to deliver him to Seymour ...
