Mouses are moving IN

Today is the 1st day of Autumn and the neighborhood mice are moving in to stay warm. You thought I was kidding about the mouse house in the shed ... well here it is! A snuggly condo with clean dry rags stuffed in a McCain K-Cup box. Even cut them a little hole for easy access. They are going to live in the shed whether I like it or not, just check out their little mouse holes they come and go from. They chewed up the Lawn Boy grass bag, the volleyball net, etc. Next, they will be making nests in the mower engines. So I thought if they had a warm little place they could call their own, they just might leave my stuff alone ... and I could just throw it away in the spring when they moved out! Worth a try ...

Here's a 'mouse view' of their new home. Not sure if anyone has moved in yet.
Mowed the lawn today too. I love to mow the lawn. When I was a young girl my Dad would never let me mow the lawn because I never mowed in a straight line (he was kind of a perfectionist). Well some things never change, I still can't mow straight. But it made me smile. I knew my Dad was looking down on me and just shaking his head and laughing.

Borrowed a bunch of old pictures from my Sister. The below picture is my Dad and his Sister, my Aunt Betty.
Michele also had this picture of my Dad. Aunt Betty was hoping we could find it so she could have a copy. I LOVE old pictures!
stay warm,

my Nie Recovery auction item

Just finished this Halloween treasure today for Kim's, Nie Recovery auction. Visit her blog to see all the great items donated to raise money for Nie Recovery (and bid, bid, bid). Hopefully this little guy will show up there soon!

An 11" Alabama Chinese bottle gourd painted to look like a pumpkin with a curious inhabitant and a spooky witch takes to her broom with her 'batty' friends. You'll never have to buy another pumpkin again!

I love these embellishments made by Dana Bates at Crafts 'N' Scraps

Had to take this 'pic' of the original trio of rescued ironing boards before one left for its new home.

rescued vintage ironing board #3

Apple Harvest Time! This 4 foot rescued vintage ironing board is a commissioned piece, and I love the way it turned out. I wasn't sure when she told me what she wanted ... but I really think it works!
I love the way the original ironing board stamped name shows through the red apple ...

my rendition of bittersweet ...
My computer is sick, I'm between cameras and most importantly, trying to finish a piece for Kim's, "Nie Recovery" auction! Visit Kim's Blog to see what's happening! Don't forget prayers for the Nielsons!

Gotta Love a Weekend!

Congratulations Boys!
Big weekend at GHB!
Rick and Rog secured the Pres. and VP positions,
respectively, at the Fall GHB Election.
They hit the campaign trail for 5 hours on Saturday with the below campaign flier. Picture of Rick and Rog by Linda H. Thx Linda!

On the artsy side of things ... a sketch materializes into an art form and saves a 'smelly' old vintage ironing board from the dump!

It stands about 4 & 1/2 feet tall and after the primer and all it's not even too smelly. Anyways, I'm sure the smelly, musty part adds character. It was probably the ironing board of a 'wicked witch' and when she wasn't ironing, it held her open spellbook ...

Building continues to progress at Bruce and Shell's "Moose Manor"!

Bry ... this one is for you!
Brandon was at THE game (I swiped the pic from Jill's blog, thx Jill)!
"Utes overcome mistakes to crash the Big House"
(I even stole Tony's title)

have a wonderful week
xoxo
